The Pro-ject X1 B Turntable Now Includes Pick it PRO Balanced Phono Cartridge.

Now the X1 B brings you one step closer to the balanced experience with the inclusion of Pro-Ject’s Pick it PRO Balanced MM phono cartridge. This is the first balanced-capable moving magnet cartridge on the market, also making it the most affordable option for balanced application. The cartridge represents collaboration between Pro-Ject & Ortofon. It was meticulously voiced to achieve a non-fatiguing sonic character while conveying impressive detail and spacial information.

The simple explanation for how and why it works: the right channel ground is not associated with the generator shield. Most all MM cartridges tie the right channel ground to the generator shield to reduce noise brought about by higher output and impedance values (compared to MC cartridges). Pro-ject have reconfigured the grounding & outputs so that a symmetrical (balanced) signal can be sent on from the cartridge. Please note that a balanced cable and a balanced phono stage are required to achieve balanced operation. The turntable, of course, can be used as-is with the supplied Connect it E Phono RCA cable.

True Balanced

Simply upgrade your X1 B to a MC cartridge, connect it with a True Balanced Phono Cable to your phono preamp and benefit from an interference-free signal with increased dynamics & lower noise level.

Mini XLR Output 

We offer a wide range of balanced phono cables with different connectors to fit all Pro-ject phono preamps. If you want to use your X1 B with a Phono Box S3 B you need a "Connect it Phono Mini XLR / Mini XLR“.

8.6'' Carbon-Aluminum Tonearm

Finished as a one-piece, with no resonance-inducing headshell, the X1 is available with pre-mounted high quality Pick it S2 MM cartridge. Its super stiff and perfectly damped construction provides a perfect tracking of the record groove..

Motor Suspension

Stainless steel platter-bearing with soft brass bushing and teflon mirrors together with a new motor suspension for better decoupling of the motor vibrations to tonearm and chassis ensure lowest rumble and noise.

Azimuth & VTA

The X1 comes with fully adjustable Azimuth & VTA. It offers you the possibility to modify your X1 as you want it.

Metal Feet

The three height adjustable damped aluminium feet guarantee the perfect stand & massively reduce risk of acoustical feedback.
